4 Days / 3 Nights - Starting Fes / Ending Fez:
Day 1: Fes - Ifran - Azrou - Midelt - Er-Rachidia - Erfoud - Erg Chebbi
Today early morning, we will pick you up from your hotel in Fes. We will
travel through the middle Atlas via Ifrane “Moroccan Switzerland”and Azrou.
You will have a stop at the cedar forest for a visit to Cedre Goraud Tree
where you will see Barbary apes. From here we drive further south passing by
several towns and you will get the opportunity to view nomads living in
tents on the way. Our next stop is in Midelt where you will enjoy your
lunch. Later on, continuing our drive by crossing the Tizi N’Talghomt Pass
(1907m) while enjoying the panoramic views. You will also cross Ziz Gorge
and the tunnel. Near Errachidia, you will see the Barrage Hassan Al-Dakhil
which has turquoise blue water. Continue our drive to Erfoud, you will have
stop for a panoramic view of Aoufous palmeraie along Ziz River. Arriving
Erfoud and crossing the off-road to reach the hotel situated on the foot of
the dunes. Dinner and Overnight in Auberge hotel.
Day 2: 4x4 Tour Around Erg Chebbi dunes.
After breakfast begin the drive to explore to the tiny villages around Erg
Chebbi dunes such as Hassi Labied, Merzouga and Khamlia. In Hassi Labied you
will have a stop at the garden where you will view canal irrigation system.
From here we continue the trail toward Merzouga. Near Merzouga, you will
have the chance to see Dayet Srji Lake that forms in spring time
which attracts locks of pink flamingos and wildlife; Bird-watchers will
enjoy this peaceful area. On our way to Kamlia we expect to meet locals
showing their desert foxes. You may also encounter desert reptiles and
mammals . In Khamlia, known as the village of black people who were slaves
coming from Sudan. You will be hospitably welcomed with a cup of tea
(Whiskey Berber) while enjoying their spiritual Gnawa music. Leaving Khamlia
our next stop is on the panoramic view of golden dunes near the Algerian
border. We may stop for Picnic lunch under the shadow of a tree
before continuing to visit a Nomad family, who are living under Berber tent
and who are taking care for herd of cattle, goats and camels. You will
be introduced to family members and getting to know about their way of life
while enjoying the taste of a nice cup of tea. After these you will have the
chance to visit the sites of black volcanic rocks. Continuing on, you’ll
reach the panorama near Yasmina Auberge where you will be amazed with the
scene of the dunes in addition to the nearby lake (springtime).Back to your
hotel for lunch and relax. You will experience a camel ride to reach the
camp where you will spend the night while viewing the sunset over the dunes.
Enjoying your dinner under millions of stars. You will be entertained with
local drum music, dancing around the campfire. Sleep in Berber nomad tent.
Day
3:
Erg Chebbi - Rissani - Erfoud - Tinejdad - Tineghir - Todra Gorges.
Waking up by the call of your guide very earlier to watch the sunrise then
enjoying breakfast. You will trek back to your hotel where you can have hot
shower and get ready for the new journey. We will depart to Rissani, you
will have a visit to Zawiya Moulay Ali ash-Sharif and you may also
investigate the Souk (local market) with the opportunity to see the Fondouks
where donkeys gather. Continuing on our drive toward Tinjdad passing by
Erfoud “the capital of marble fossil” .You will view the Khatarat (Canal
irrigation system) on our route. Our next stop is in Tinejdad where you will
have lunch. Later on,you
will have the chance to stop for a panoramic view of the river. Continuing
on the road alongside the river to reach the gorges where you will hike/Walk
on foot through this stunning place while enjoying the views of high rock
walls (up to 300 meters). Dinner and overnight stay in a Kasbah hotel.
Day
4: Todra gorges to Fes
Today
we are going to travel back to Fes in a different road till Midelt while
enjoying the landscapes and Berber villages through the Atlas Mountains, you
will have a stop for lunch on the way. Then continue our drive to Fes.
Arrive to Fes
and drop off at your hotel.
